Lived on Gunpowder road in Big Bone precinct 1910 census

Aunt Wilma & Jane Wichard say he was killed when hit by a train in 1919 down in Walton. Apparently he was crossing the track and was hard of hearing and some guys sitting at the store front yelled to him to try to warn him but he was slow in his old age and was hit when turning to see what they wanted.

The "handwritten sheet from the Florence Library, 1992" about the Rice family states that he served in the Civil War at Lexington.

He was married at Wesley Rice's home in Boone Co.
