Saturday morning, the spirit of Mrs. Roxanna Aylor, one of our valued old citizens passed to the Great Beyond at her home on South Main street [in Walton] after a long illness of infirmities incident to old age. She was 84 years old and was born and reared in Boone County, and was the mother of fourteen children. She was the widow of James H. Aylor, who was killed at the L. & N. Railroad crossing by a passenger train on North Main street in August, 1919. She was a devout member of the Big Bone Baptist Church, Big Bone, KY. She is survived by 7 sons, 5 daughters, 31 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, a brother and one sister. Her sons are Ezra Aylor and Robert Aylor of the East Bend neighborhood, Boone County; Will Aylor, Grant, Ky.; Paul Aylor, Rabbit Hash, Ky.; James Aylor and Kenneth Aylor of Union, Ky; Blufford [SIC], Fargo, ND. The daughters are Mrs. James Allen and Miss Cora Aylor, Walton, Ky.; Mrs. John Satchwell, Union, Ky.; Mrs. Joe Green, Erlanger, Ky.; Mrs. Roxy Aylor, Cincinnati, Ohio, and two children dead. During Mrs. Aylor's long illness, she was tenderly cared for by her loving daughter Miss Cora Aylor, who resided with her and she will be sorely missed. Her funeral took place Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Big Bone Baptist church, her old friend and former pastor, Rev. O. M. Huey of Louisville, Ky., Preached a very appropriate sermon on the subject of "Mother" and paid just tribute to this good woman. He was assisted by Rev. T.L. Wooten, pastor of the Walton Baptist church; Raymond Smith, pastor of belleview; Rev. Roy johnson of Big Bone Baptist church; and Rev. John Miller of Elsmere. The church was filled to its capacity with relatives and friends. The remains were laid to rest in the Big Bone Cemetery.

A second obit titled "MATRIARCH DIES" shows her picture and lists her children. Neither has a date on it.
